About the event

In the U.S. Alcohol Policy Alliance’s new three-part Interactive Dialogue series, we will discuss new and novel high-risk products that are increasingly present in communities and how the prevention field can assess and address these products in their own communities.

  • Dialogue 1 will define the problem,  identifying the industry’s most recent wave of products
  • Dialogue 2 will provide training on how to collect information on these products in your community
  • Dialogue 3 will include time for reporting out on findings from community scans and discuss policy solutions to reduce the sale and advertising of high-risk alcoholic beverages

Objectives:

  • Provide a brief history of underage drinking and prevention efforts
  • Define and identify emerging high-risk alcoholic beverages
  • Learn how to conduct environmental scans in alcohol retailers
  • Document emerging high risk products in communities across the U.S.
  • Discuss opportunities for policy change

Presenters:

  • Traci Toomey, PhD - University of Minnesota
  • Izabelle Wensley - Dover Youth 2 Youth & the U.S. Alcohol Policy Alliance

Please note: Registration is limited to 300 people. We will create a wait list for anyone who registers beyond that allowance.

Representatives of the alcohol industry, including trade groups, producers, wholesalers, and retailers, are not invited to this Interactive Dialogue.
